This project is an in-depth study of the stained glass from the original stained-glass windows of the Mount Zion AME Zion Church. Researching the art of creating stained glass by recreating the top portion of the windows at a smaller scale. This recreation is meant to be a suncatcher souvenir for museum patrons. Another souvenir created would be keychains made from Shrinky Dinks of a drawing of the stained-glass windows. In addition to the study, I created a stipple drawing of the stained glass to understand the glass’s shape and the window’s frame. In addition to these souvenirs, a 3D-printed model of the glass window creates a handheld piece that museum visitors can examine.
