FALL 2024
3 CREDIT COURSE
As a class, we were each assigned to a group with a specific topic relating to the ecology of the Dog River in Mobile, Alabama. My group was assigned to erosion. We were tasked with designing a structure that would prevent and allow people to observe the erosion of the Dog River. We developed an arched canopy that runs alongside a bridge. Through digital fabrication, the arch was designed in hopes that the pillars of the structure would help keep the soil along the river in place, to help prevent erosion. A bike an walking path were added as well as benches to allow viewers to observe the effects of erosion on the ecology of the Dog River.
