HELLO!!

I have long been interested in making, where the process and the physical results of design are self-evident. Constructionism, a design and educational theory based on learning through making, has been central to my design pursuits. This interest commenced as a teenager while studying ceramics and has developed more in my Environmental Design degree, which focuses on interdisciplinary design, material studies, and diverse fabrication methods. I am eager to apply and advance my knowledge and skillsets in these areas to your prestigious Master of Industrial Design program. I have utilized digital and handcrafting methods in various projects and in my environmental design studies. My internship as a design and marketing intern at Braden Fellman provided me with valuable experience. While there, I created site plans for new residential sites and advertising posters for these sites. This internship played a crucial role in reorienting my educational direction. In the fall of 2024, in ENVD 4010, a group of students was assigned to design and build a CNC-routed wooden chair, which I had created earlier in the semester term. This project allowed me to reflect on my educational direction once again. Constructing a tangible object is more fulfilling than my previous digital projects. My aptitude for crafting, through personal projects, has served as a creative outlet and allowed me to become proficient in various skills.
